Oh, what a difference…
6 months ago, yesterday, I had surgery.
Can you believe it’s been 6 months? I feel like it was just yesterday that I began my journey down the road to a better me. I am so happy with my decision to have surgery. It’s the BEST thing I’ve done for myself EVER! I’m healthier, I’m happier and it’s still just the beginning. I’m really looking forward to what the future has in store.
For the past 6 months I’ve contemplated posting my “BEFORE” pictures for everyone to see. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to publish the pictures because they’re pretty embarrassing, but the only way to really grasp the difference that 6 months has made is to see me now and then. Side by side.
So, here you go…
The first picture was taken the morning of surgery, before heading to the hospital, and the second was taken yesterday afternoon. I don’t ever realize how different I look until I see pictures. It’s like I’m two different people. These pictures drive home the fact that surgery was a good choice for me. I have no regrets!
I’m so proud of my accomplishments thus far. In 6 months I’ve lost 93.8 pounds, started working out regularly and I’ve become more secure in my own skin. I still have a lot of internal, and external, things to work on, but little by little I’m getting there.
One day at a time, ONE pound at a time…Eventually I’ll get there!
