I hate summers in Texas…

Yesterday was the official start of summer.   Apparently Houston never got the memo, because it’s been “summer” here since late April.  The official start just brings hotter temps, more humidity and higher electricity bills.

The heat is unbearable and miserable and just plain HOTTTTTTT.  Our “feels like” temps have been in the 100′s for the better part of 2 or 3 weeks.

This is the time of year when you’ll hear me complain a LOT!  It’s no secret that I hate summer, I’d prefer cooler temperatures (under 70 FTW!!!) all year long.  I know, I know I live in the wrong state for that.  A girl can dream, can’t she?

With the crazy Texas heat and the constant 110% humidity there’s really no point in doing my hair.  The second I walk out of my apartment/the office/or any other establishment the frizz takes over and I start sweating like I’ve been working out for an hour.  It’s not pretty, people, just take my word on that.

Even the heat and humidity can’t stop me from getting my summer hair did.  Blonde and summer go hand in hand and it’s no different this year.  I got my summer highlights done this past weekend and I’m really happy with the new look.  This is my #Summer can #SUCKIT look!!!

The only good thing that comes from the heat….swimming and fruity drinks poolside.

It’s only June and I’m already over summer and counting down to a Texas Winter.
Only 5 months to go…

How’s your summer?

The weather is actually cooler out here in Georgia. Before we moved here, people tried to warn us that it would be hot here in the summers. I kind of laughed at them. We get heat warnings here when the humidity hits 50% and I laugh and laugh. We’ve only had a heat index over 100 once so far this summer. It doesn’t make me miss Houston, that’s for sure!

Your hair looks great, but that picture makes you look 12! ;-)

Summer is good and I hate to mention it, but the heat seems to be staying away for now. Yay! However, it will be hotter than hell anytime now, so you won’t be alone forever!

Well, here in Florida the heat index is over 100 daily with at least 85+% humidity. I just got back from New Mexico and it felt like heaven. 103 but less than 20% humidity. Makes me not dread moving to Vegas in August so much anymore…yeah, right :) .

I don’t know how anyone lives in Houston — or Florida for that matter. The humidity would kill me!

Girl, I don’t know how you survive it. I went to Austin in April – APRIL!! – and it was so hot that the sidewalk burned the soles of my feet *through* my sneakers! I can’t even imagine it this time of year.

I do like North Carolina for the fact that we have 4 seasons & each one is 3 months long. No 6 months of summer like in Mississippi, and no 6 months of gray rain like in Seattle. But summers in Seattle are gorgeous, and this is the time of year that I really miss it there.

OMG, I wear flip flops all the time. At the Astros game on Saturday I was standing waiting for a light to change so I could cross the street. I could feel the heat through my flops. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to walk any longer. It was that bad. I’m not sure how I survive the heat most days.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and we are celebrating that we finally have sun! After more than six straight weeks of clouds and rain. I could NEVER live in Texas, I HATE the heat.

Your hair looks great!

Thanks the picture was taken about 30 minutes after my hair appt. I hadn’t had time to really mess it up yet. If you hate heat, like I do, Texas is definitely not for you.

Love the highlights, they look great on you girlie!

I don’t mind Ohio weather much. Sure the snow can suck when its hip deep, but its fun to watch the kids play in it and I can use my snowblower.
