Look, a post…
(and it’s not, totally, about football!!)
It’s the holiday season, and like so many of you I’ve been running around all crazy busy. You’d think I’d have better control over things, you know, since I’m single, have no kids and most of my friends don’t speak to me any more – yeah, so is not the case. I’m still stressed, still busy and at times I feel like I may doze off at any moment from the pure exhaustion that the holiday’s bring. Why is it that the most WONDERFUL time of the year leaves you wanting to strangle the next rude person you encounter at the mall WalMart Target. I need a holiday from the holiday’s, preferably one that consists of laying on my couch, eating bon bons and sleeping for about 3 weeks straight!!! (what diet?!?)
***sigh*** I digress…
I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but I made a “LIST”!
No, not that list (because, duh, I’m not a mommy or FAMOUS)…this one.
My friend, Issa, totally included me on her list of 31 blogs you should be reading. I’m quite flattered to be included with 30 other amazing writers because, HELLO, I know these people and they are all much better writers than yours truly. And some of them even blog on a regular basis, about real things. When I read the news about my nomination making the “list” I immediately wanted to run up on stage and start thanking God and the Academy, because that’s what the famous people do, but, there was no stage and no academy. So, do you think dancing on a table will suffice?
I love Issa and am so happy that she thinks so highly of me. But, I have a feeling my being on the list is all a part of her sneaky plan to get me to blog more frequently about real things, not just football and my dog.
And apparently it worked, because here I am writing. I’m sure Issa will be so proud!!!
So, since Issa brought my lack of writing about things other than football, my dog and Christmas to the Interwebz attention I figured I should explain my whereabouts the last few days weeks months (in list form, of course):
- I’m totally addicted to Facebook.
When I’m not here I’m there. Usually tending to my Farmville Farm or playing Bejeweled (I will beat Liz’s score one day, even if it kills me!!!). - Hi, my name is Greis and I’m addicted to my iPhone.
If I can’t do it on my iPhone, it’s probably not worth doing. (Ok, so only SOME things aren’t worth doing. **wink, wink**) And, yes, I have the WordPress ap, but have you tried writing a post on the iPhone keyboard? Not gonna happen. - Playing with my iPhone aps.
I mean, really, I’ve got Facebook, Bejeweled and Words with Friends (if you don’t have this ap you must get it, NOW. My screen name is AmazingGreis) with me at all times. It’s HEAVEN. - Working.
This is the biggest keeper of my time. And, since work pays the bills I must continue to do it. - Watching NFL football.
Did you hear the Texans are still in the play-off hunt? I know, it’s a very LONG shot, but stranger things have happened. - Watching College football.
The Longhorns will be playing in the BCS National Championship on January 7, 2010. Need I say more? Hook’em Horns!! - Watching Glee.
- Partaking in all of the normal holiday activities.
Mostly shopping (for others) and spending time with family.
Well, those are the only viable excuses I can come up with, though I’m sure there are more. In my opinion they are all great and my lack of real writing is absolutely excusable. I mean, who doesn’t want to watch Glee or football or play games on her iPhone at all hours of the day? Writing posts with substance should always come 2nd to all of the above, right?
I promise to be a more consistent writer in the New Year, but I’m not making it a resolution, because I always fail at those.
XOXO
