Addicted to eBay…

Hi, my name is Greis and I’m addicted to eBay!!!!! Are there 12 step programs out there for eBay addicts? Instead of AA it could be EA, I could be the president and I’m sure I’d have no problem finding LOTS of members.

I joined eBay on November 1, 2001, and since then I have purchased, sold and browsed way too many items to list here. You just can’t go wrong on eBay. The deals are quite amazing, sometimes 50% less than what I would pay at a store, and “window” shopping is just as much fun. Sometimes I find myself going to the website for no reason at all and then I’ll do a search for some obscure item that I have no intention of ever buying. Is that weird? Please tell me that other people do the same thing…..right?

What might I be looking for, you ask? Well, lets see, I’ve purchased new shoes (NIKES) twice, video games, Astros memorabilia, Astros tickets, Texans tickets, airline tickets, packing supplies, purses, blankets, baby clothes, Rodeo tickets, clothing, birthday presents, books, movies and even an obscure machining manual for work. You can find ANYTHING on eBay, the commercials are not lying.

I not only buy, buy, buy on eBay, but I like to sell things too. I like to read so when I’m done with a book I usually turn around and sell it. I’ve been doing some spring cleaning lately so I’ve listed a lot of old books and my cd collection. Although, I just can’t bring myself to get rid of my New Kids on the Block , Justin or *NSYNC cds, that might be another addiction, but I digress. My junk is taking up too much room in my small apartment so it’s just time to get rid of as much as possible and every little bit of money I can make on my old stuff is well worth it, especially with gas prices these days. Some big items that I’ve sold lately are tickets to the Yankees/Astros and Red Sox/Astros games that are upcoming, this month, here in Houston. Tickets were and are still hard to come by so I figured I’d take advantage of that with my extra tickets. I’m quite proud of myself. 4 of my extra 6 tickets have sold, for quite a bit above face value, not too shabby.

Now that I’ve shed light on my addiction, I hope you eBay haters out there, I’m sure there are a few, need to log on and give it a try. You may not become addicted at first, but just wait, it will happen!
